Neurodivergent Love: Enhancing Emotional Intimacy

Do you struggle with miscommunication, emotional overwhelm, or shutting down when trying to connect emotionally? Many of these challenges stem from executive functioning differences and can be especially difficult when catastrophizing, shame spirals, or rejection sensitivity take over. Dr. Alison Ash and Sebastian Clarke will share tools for navigating these dynamics with more clarity, compassion, and connection - for both autistic and ADHD folks and their partners.

In this experiential workshop, we’ll cover:

  • Common neurodivergent challenges like time-blindness, decision fatigue, sensory overload, burnout, and masking

  • How executive functioning struggles can fuel resentment and breakdowns in communication

  • What catastrophizing, shame spiraling, and rejection sensitivity actually look like in relationships, and how to interrupt and address these painful experiences

  • Harmful dynamics like parent/child or manager/employee roles that can lead to fawning and resentment, and how to shift into more mutual connection

  • Strategies for reducing the emotional and logistical toll of neurodiverse and neurotypical differences while fostering teamwork, trust, and intimacy

Whether you're currently partnered or want to prepare for future relationships, you'll leave with strategies and tools to prevent misattunements, reduce conflict, and co-create resilient relationships that honor how each of your unique brains functions best.

Note: This workshop is part of a two-part series. We also invite you to join Neurodivergent Sexuality: Enhancing Pleasure on July 29th — a recommended (but not required) companion workshop.
